My story
Why I built this, and why it matters to you.
My name is Chastity Cortijo, and I've spent the last 15 years inside the virtual assistant industry as a VA, as a business owner, and now as the person who built the only vetted VA directory designed specifically for small business owners who are ready to delegate.
Before any of this, I spent years in investment banking and corporate marketing. I worked at Salomon Smith Barney, Prudential Securities, Citigroup and Credit Suisse before moving into media and marketing at GroupM and CafeMom. I know what professional operations look like from the inside. I know what it means to manage competing priorities, represent a brand with precision, and keep complex things moving without dropping anything.
That background is exactly why I built Hire a VA.
When I transitioned out of corporate and into the VA world, I noticed a gap that nobody was addressing. Business owners like realtors, photographers, therapists, contractors, coaches, were drowning in operational work they didn't have time for. They needed help. But finding a trustworthy, professional VA wasn't easy. The big freelance platforms were overwhelming, unvetted, and full of noise. The good VAs were hard to find and even harder to evaluate.
